The Objectives of the Program
-
Teach children and adults the fundamentals of ice skating while building confidence and skills through each lesson.
-
Provide a progressive curriculum that ensures success from the first steps on the ice to the mastery of advanced skills.
-
Promote the health and fitness benefits of ice skating.
-
Equip each participant with the foundation necessary to reach his or her goal, be it recreational or competitive in nature.
The Learn to Skate USA program offers several levels of advancement. This ensures individual skaters will be paired with other skaters of similar age and abilities. The program offers classes skaters ages 2 & up. Certificates and achievement badges are awarded as skaters progress through the levels.
Curriculum
Ages 2-4: Spuds and Tots (Parent and Child)
An adult (18 & over) must accompany child onto the ice with ice skates on. The adult must have basic balance on skates while on the ice, as the adult is expected to support the child both physically and emotionally.
