Private Lessons on Drop-In Rules:

Idaho IceWorld Stick Time - Drop-In Rules for Coaches and Players

  1. Full hockey equipment is mandatory for all skaters 17 years of age and younger.
  2. Skaters 18 years of age and older are allowed to wear a helmet, gloves, stick and skates.
  3. Players 17 years of age and under must have a full-face shield/cage on their helmet. Players 18 years of age and older are strongly encouraged to wear a full-face shield/cage on their helmet.
  4. Helmets must be worn at all times, including when in the players' bench areas.
  5. Bring your own puck and improve your hockey skills. It is not the responsibility of the rink or other players to provide pucks or equipment.
  6. Be aware of those around you when shooting or skating for a puck. Do not intentionally cut people off.
  7. No small-area or full-ice scrimmages are allowed. Stick Time allows players to work on the skill of their choice, and because players are not required to wear full equipment, scrimmages pose a safety risk. Violators of this rule may lose ice privileges.
  8. No slap shots are allowed. All shots must be taken at the ends of the rink where protective netting and thick glass are in place. No shots may be taken toward the side boards.
  9. Participation is limited to the first 30 skaters.
  10. Water bottles must be kept in the players' bench areas and not on the cap rail. Food is not permitted.
  11. Figure skates are not allowed on Stick Time ice, except when worn by coaches providing instruction.
  12. Fighting, foul language, and horseplay will not be tolerated. Fighting will result in immediate expulsion without refund and may result in suspension or permanent loss of rink privileges.
  13. Semi-private instruction is permitted only under the following conditions:
    • Limited to one (1) coach and no more than two (2) skaters at any time.
    • Instruction must occur on a fully shared ice surface with all Stick Time participants; no portion of the ice may be reserved, designated, or implied as “private” space.
    • Coaches and skaters may not use cones, bumpers, barriers, or any setup intended to claim, block, or separate an area of the ice for exclusive use.
    • Training aids and equipment (including pucks, cones, targets, and similar items) are permitted only when used in a manner that does not restrict movement of other skaters or interfere with normal Stick Time flow.
    • Staff may immediately require removal or relocation of any setup, drill, or activity that appears to create congestion, restrict flow, or resemble a private rink area.
    • Coaches must comply immediately with direction from the Supervisor on Duty regarding lesson placement, spacing, or activity type.
    • All coaches must have a current Idaho IceWorld Coaching Licensing Agreement on file with Idaho IceWorld.
  14. Stick Time is intended for individual skill development and semi-private instruction only. Group lessons, clinics, partial or full team practices, and organized drills involving multiple players including breakouts and offensive or defensive systems drills are prohibited.
  15. The Supervisor on Duty has full discretion to limit or prohibit any drills, lessons, or other activities deemed unsafe or disruptive to other customers.
  16. All participants skate at their own risk.

In the event of a conflict between the Commercial Coaching Licensing Agreement and any exhibit, the terms of the Commercial Coaching Licensing Agreement shall control.
