2026/2027 High School Tryouts
***ATTENTION***
High school hockey is a full-contact, competitive league designed to provide a challenging and rewarding experience for student athletes. Player safety is our highest priority. To ensure a safe and competitive environment, teams must have sufficient roster numbers and skill levels to compete effectively.
All players are required to register for the high school they attend. Registration information will be verified to ensure players are assigned to the appropriate school program. Players attending Boise High, Timberline, Mountain View/Centennial, or Eagle/Rocky Mountain must register for their respective school team. Players whose school is not represented by one of these programs will register with Can-Ada. Students attending private schools should register for the public high school attendance area in which they reside and would normally be assigned.
If there are not enough players to form a safe and competitive team, eligible players may be placed into a player draft. Drafted players will be assigned to teams by the high school coaching staff to help maintain competitive balance and ensure all qualified players have an opportunity to participate.
All players will be evaluated during tryouts by the high school coaching staff. These evaluations will be used to assess skill level, promote player safety, and assist with team placement decisions when necessary.
***Any player born in 2008 or earlier will be required to complete SafeSport training before participating.***

JV Redshirt Program
The JV Redshirt Program is designed for players who are on the cusp of making a high school roster and would benefit from additional development and exposure to the high school game. This program provides an opportunity for players to continue developing their skills, hockey IQ, and physical readiness while becoming familiar with the expectations, pace, and structure of high school hockey.
Players selected for the JV Redshirt Program will participate in all team practices and training activities alongside the high school team. This allows athletes to develop under the guidance of the high school coaching staff while gaining valuable experience in a competitive team environment.
As players demonstrate readiness and development throughout the season, coaches may integrate them into game opportunities when appropriate. Participation in games is at the discretion of the coaching staff and is based on player development, team needs, and readiness to compete safely and effectively at the high school level.
The JV Redshirt Program serves as a developmental pathway to help players successfully transition into high school hockey and prepare for future roster opportunities. Players must be participating in the JV house league to be eligible.
