LEARN TO SKATE
Idaho IceWorld Skating school is proud to offer U.S. Figure Skating LEARN TO SKATE USA®. Classes are structured into age specific levels and designed for any beginner to acquire the necessary skills to enjoy the sport of Ice Skating.
2026 SUMMER LEARN TO SKATE CAMP
(Ages 5 through 12)
July 13-16, 2026 | 9-11 a.m.
Cost: $241 per skater
Beginners, Snowplow Sam 1–4, and Basic 1–6
Camp is open to skaters ages 5–12 who are at the Beginner, Snowplow Sam 1–4, or Basic 1–6 levels. Participants will enjoy daily on-ice instruction from certified instructors, games, activities, friendship, and fun in a safe, family-friendly environment.
Camp registration includes:
- Skate rental
- Professional instruction from certified coaches
- On- and off-ice games and activities
- Camp T-shirt
- A fun and supportive learning environment
Enrollment is limited to ensure a high quality of instruction and individual attention for each participant.
A current 2026–27 Learn to Skate USA membership is required for all participants.

Thursday Classes (Ages 13+ Teen/Adult): Pre-Free Skate/Free Skate 1-4

2026 ANNUAL BOISE ICE SHOW CAST REGISTRATION
(REGISTRATION OPEN Aug 3rd through Sept 4th)
The 2026 Boise Ice Show will be held at Idaho IceWorld with performances on Friday, December 4 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, December 5 at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Participation is open to Learn to Skate students enrolled in both Fall Learn to Skate sessions who are skating at the Snowplow Sam 2/Basic 2 level or higher.
Registration Fee: $161 per skater
Costume Fee: Additional fee required (TBD)
Practice Schedule
- Youth Groups (12 & Under): Wednesdays, Sept. 9–Dec. 2, 6:45–7:30 PM
- Adult Group: Mondays, Sept. 14–Nov. 30, 7:15–7:45 PM
- Teen Aspire Group 13-18: Thursdays, Sept 15-December 3, 6:15-6:45PM
Mandatory Dress Rehearsals
- Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday Nov. 29 at Idaho IceWorld (times TBD)
- Schedule subject to change.
The show is professionally choreographed and co-produced by Idaho IceWorld and the Boise Figure Skating Club. Cast members receive additional instruction and perform in a professionally produced ice show. Participation requires significant commitment, and attendance at practices and rehearsals is expected.
Additional Information
- All spectators, including parents, must purchase a ticket for admission.
- 2026-27 Learn to Skate USA membership required.
- All cast members aged 18 and older must complete SafeSport training and maintain current SafeSport certification throughout the production period.
- City of Boise Parks & Recreation scholarships do not apply.

The Objectives of the Program
-
Teach children and adults the fundamentals of ice skating while building confidence and skills through each lesson.

Provide a progressive curriculum that ensures success from the first steps on the ice to the mastery of advanced skills.

Promote the health and fitness benefits of ice skating.

Equip each participant with the foundation necessary to reach his or her goal, be it recreational or competitive in nature.
The Learn to Skate USA program offers several levels of advancement. This ensures individual skaters will be paired with other skaters of similar age and abilities. The program offers classes skaters ages 2 & up. Certificates and achievement badges are awarded as skaters progress through the levels.
Curriculum
Ages 2-4: Spuds and Tots (Parent and Child)
An adult (18 & over) must accompany child onto the ice with ice skates on. The adult must have basic balance on skates while on the ice, as the adult is expected to support the child both physically and emotionally. The goal of this class is to provide a safe, supported environment for the young child to gain confidence on the ice while interacting through games and activities.

Session Information
Idaho IceWorld offers 6 two-month sessions (year around): Jan/Feb, Mar/Apr, May/June, July/Aug, Sept/Oct and Nov/Dec. Exact dates are detailed in the Activity Guide and under classes and fees.
